Reginald Rowe

Biography

A second generation Abstract Expressionist, Reginald Rowe (1920 - 2001) spent most of his career in South Texas, and became best known for his shaped abstract painting, based on classical myths. Hailed as a pioneer in abstract art in San Antonio, he influenced many as an artist and a teacher.Rowe was born in 1920 in Brooklyn, New York, and graduated from Princeton University, with a major in Spanish Literature. He also attended the Art Students League in New York and earned a Master of Fine Arts degree from the Instituto Allende of the University of Guanajuato, Mexico.
